The Wales Women’s National Coalition has been forced to close after 13 years of campaigning for the rights of Welsh women after the government rejected its funding application.
The organisation, which represented more than 50 women’s organisations across Wales, found out last month it would not receive funding and was unable to secure other resources.
Naomi Brightmore, director of the WNNC, told WRC that she hoped the legacy of WWNC would continue but that she and other former WWNC members were concerned that the rights of Welsh women would no longer be represented at Welsh government level.
